Refurbished Parish Elevator Blessed and Officially Reopened

St. Mary’s Parish joyfully celebrated the completion and blessing of the refurbished parish elevator following the weekend Mass.

After a brief prayer service, Fr. Stephen Lobo, OCD, blessed the newly refurbished elevator and gave thanks to God for the successful completion of this important project, which will greatly benefit our elderly parishioners and those with mobility challenges.

The inaugural ride was taken by Marlene and Louis Scraba, who also celebrated the remarkable milestone of their 70th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday. Joining them were Bill Klunder and Randy Reid.

In his remarks, Fr. Stephen expressed his sincere gratitude to the Parish Pastoral Council and the Finance Committee for their support and encouragement. He offered special thanks to Paul O’Dwyer for his dedication and commitment throughout the project, and to Randy Reid for his expertise, guidance, and assistance. Fr. Stephen also acknowledged the efforts of everyone who worked behind the scenes to ensure the successful completion of the refurbishment.

A heartfelt word of appreciation was extended to all parishioners and benefactors who generously supported the project.

The refurbished elevator has successfully passed inspection and is now fully operational, providing safe and convenient access to the church facilities, especially for seniors and those with mobility challenges.

Fr. Stephen concluded by thanking the entire parish family for their prayers, generosity, and support, and invited everyone to continue making good use of this important facility for years to come.

May God bless all who contributed to this project and all who will benefit from its use.
